RUSSIAN TRAVEL ICON ST NICHOLAS IN SILVER OKLAD
An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon of Saint Nicholas of Myra, one of the most celebrated saints of the Orhodox church. Travel icon of miniature size. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Silver riza or oklad with repousse decor. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers marks are on the side of the riza. The backside of the icon is covered with velvet. Russian Christian Religious Items and Collectibles.
