FRENCH ART DECO BRONZE PHEASANT BIRD SCULPTURE
A vintage early 1930s bronze sculpture depicting a pheasant bird with a splayed tail. This piece seems to be an unsigned work by Salvatore Melanien (1902 to 1934), aka S Melani. The figure is installed on a black marble base. The style of the sculpture refers to the Art Deco imagery with its interest in geometrical design and exotica. Similar items were often produced in France and Austria in the beginning of the 20th century when the art of bronze flourished across Europe. Collectible Bronze Items For Interior Decor.
