KISS TERRACOTTA FIGURE BY BARBEDIENNE AFTER RODIN
A Mid century 1957 painted terracotta figurine of a nude couple executed by Alva Studios. The item is a miniature copy of The Kiss, Le Baiser, a 1882 marble sculpture by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin, 1840-1917. The original copy of the artwork was made by Ferdinand Barbedienne, 1810-1892, a prominent French metalworker, which is indicated by the signature on the side of the base.
