RUSSIAN ILLUSTRATION OLD MEN BABA YAGA BY BILIBIN
Ivan Yakovlevich Bilibin, Russian, 1876 to 1942, a watercolor painted on lines obtained by a mechanical process depicting two old men from the illustrations for the Russian fairy tale Baba Yaga. Signed lower left. Circa the early 20th century. Bilibin was an illustrator and stage designer who took part in the Mir iskusstva, contributed to the Ballets Russes, co-founded the Union of Russian Artists.
