RUSSIAN PORTRAIT PAINTING BY VLADIMIR MAKOVSKY
Vladimir Makovsky, 1846 to 1920, watercolor on paper female portrait painting depicting a peasant woman, the 1890s. Signed and dated lower right. Oval matted and framed. Vladimir Yegorovich Makovsky was a Russian painter, art collector, and teacher. In 1882, he was made professor at the Moscow Art School after the death of Vasili Perov. In 1894, Makovsky became Rector of the Preparatory school of the Academy of Art. Antique Russian Portrait Paintings For Collectors.
