EMILE GUILLEMINE PAIR OF SILVERED BRONZE FIGURES

Emile Coriolan Hippolyte Guillemin, French, 1841 to 1907, a pair of silver plated bronze Oriental figurines, one depicts a Turkish hunter raising his leg under a goat and holding a falcon on his left hand, and a Turkish female dancer wearing a finely detailed dress and carrying a rolled up flag. Both sculptures are signed on a circular base: E. le Guillemin. Emile Coriolan Hippolyte Guillemin was a French sculptor of the Belle Epoque. He worked in bronze. He studied under his father, the painter Auguste Guillemin, and under Jean-Jules Salmson. He showed work at the Salon of Paris from 1870 to 1899, and in 1897 received an honorable mention there.
