THREE KUTAHYA CERAMIC VESSELS, PERSIA QAJAR ART

Nice collection of three Middle Eastern Kutahya ceramic vessels dated from the late 19th to the early 20th century. Comprising one four-neck vessel hand-painted with polychrome floral motifs and image of a deer, and two ceramic bottles typical for Persian Qajar period in the 19th century. After Iznik, Kutahya was Ottoman Turkey's most important center of ceramic production. Thanks to abundant deposits of clay in the area, ceramics were made here in large quantities during the Phrygian, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine eras, and the traditional techniques of this art have survived to the present day.
