RUSSIAN BRONZE FIGURAL GROUP BY SERGE ZELIKSON
A Russian Art Deco style patinated bronze figural group. The figural group depicts a pair of dancing female figures wearing traditional Russian dresses by Serge Zelikson, Russian, French, 1890 to 1966. Signed with an etching on the base. Circa: early 20th century. Serge or Sergei Zalikson was a Russian and French sculptor known for busts, heads and portrait figurines of famous historical figures and cultural figures, figurines of dancers, compositions on mythological and everyday themes, allegorical and erotic works, and animalistic sculpture. In addition, he was engaged in medal art and decorative plastic art. In 1912, he obtained a scholarship and went to Paris, where he studied under the direction of Injalbert, Bouchard, and Landowsky.
