A GILT BRONZE FRENCH BOX WITH GANYMEDES, 19TH C
An antique French gilt bronze jewelry box of a circular form. The lid is covered with red velvet and decorated with a relief-executed profile of Ganymedes, Ancient Greece mythological hero. The entire bronze surface is covered with a thin, beautifully engraved floral ornament. The box interior is also lined with red velvet. Ca. 19th cen.
