ANTIQUE JAPANESE GOLD GILT AND SILVER MENUKI
A collection of eight antique Japanese figural mixed metal Menuki. The pieces are adorned with gilding, embossing and etching. The richness and excellency of craftsmanship unite silver, bronze, copper and gold layering in a masterpiece miniature artwork. The Menuki depict scenes with Samurai, Shinto, Ancient, birds, animals, and others. Several with pins on the back. Circa: 19th to early 20th century. Menuki are a pair of small ornaments under the handle of a Japanese sword placed on opposite sides of the handle.
