ANTIQUE JAPANESE GILT SILVER MENUKI MINIATURES
A collection of nine antique Japanese figural mixed metal and enamel Menuki. The pieces are adorned with gilding, embossing and etching. The richness and excellency of craftsmanship unite silver, bronze, copper and gold layering in a masterpiece miniature artwork. The Menuki are made in the shape of flowers, leaves, cones, and others. Several with pins on the back. One is marked with a Silver standard hallmark on the back. Circa: 19th to early 20th century. Menuki are a pair of small ornaments under the handle of a Japanese sword placed on opposite sides of the handle.
