RUSSIAN SOVIET OIL PAINTING BY LIDIYA MASTERKOVA
Lidiya Masterkova, Russian Soviet, 1927 to 2008, oil painting on canvas depicting an abstract composition, 1972. Signed and dated lower right. Framed. Lidia Alekseevna Masterkova, a Russian nonconformist artist from the Lianozovo circle. She was one of the first to turn to metaphysical abstraction. Masterkova endows geometric figures with a sacred meaning, uses the circle motif, and creates three dimensional textures. After emigrating to France in 1975, monochrome color prevails in his work. One of a kind artwork.
