A 19th-century Russian Imperial Orthodox icon depicting The Mother of God of the Burning Bush hand painted in oil on a wood panel. The burning, but unburned bush marked the immaculate conception of the Mother of God Christ from the Holy Spirit. The southern region of the Empire, possibly Ukraine.
