RUSSIAN SOVIET PAINTING BY VIKTOR UFIMTSEV, 1961
A Russian avant garde gouache on paper painting depicting the female figure sitting by a river by Viktor Ufimtsev, Russian, 1899 to 1964. Signed in the Cyrillic and dated 1961 lower center. Provenance: Trinity International Auctions, 05.20.2017, Lot 54. Soviet artist, painter, graphic artist, stage designer. Since 1920 he was a member of the Union of Art Workers. In 1918 he met D. D. Burliuk in Omsk, and became interested in futurism. He organized a futuristic group of artists Chervona Troika, participated in the activities of the society of artists New Siberia and traveled on the agitation ship III International. Since 1923 he lived and worked in Uzbekistan, taught at the Tashkent Art College. Russian Avant Garde Fine Art, Abstract Paintings For Collectors.
