RUSSIAN HOUSE ON WATERSIDE DRAWING VIKTOR ZARUBIN
Viktor Zarubin, Russian, 1866 to 1928, Chinese ink on a paper drawing entitled A House On The Waterside, 1913. There is a signature and date on the top above lettered in Russian. With a printed paper label mounted to the back. Framed under glass. Viktor Ivanovich Zarubin, a Ukrainian-born Russian painter and scenographer, is famous for his landscapes with figures. He was admitted to the Imperial Academy of Arts and studied with Arkhip Kuindzhi. From 1897, he participated in the annual exhibitions there and, in 1898, was named an Artist, First Degree" for his painting The House of God.
