RUSSIAN SOVIET OIL PAINTING BY EDVARD STEINBERG
Edvard (Edik) Steinberg (Russian Soviet, French, 1937-2012) oil painting on cardboard depicting an abstract geometric composition, 1991. Signed and dated lower right. Additionally signed and dated on the back. Eduard Arkadevich Steinberg is a Russian artist, a representative of the second wave of the Russian Avant Garde. In the 1970s Steinberg began creating his own version of geometrical abstraction (metageometry), where a plastic construction is seen as a consequence of a spiritual impulse. One of a kind artwork.
