ANTIQUE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ICON OF HOLY MANDYLION
An antique Russian Orthodox hand-painted icon of Holy Mandylion (Spas Nerukotvorny). A mixed media painting: wood, levkas, levkas carving, oil, craft gold, cold enamels. The well-known image of the Spas Nerukotvorny in a whale, which was present with Peter when St. Petersburg was laid down. Circa: the late 19th century - early 20th century.
