Oleg Sokolov (Ukrainian/ Soviet, 1919-1990) mixed media painting on paper, Refusal of Expectations and Hopes, 1985. Signed and dated lower right. Additionally signed, titled in verses, Refusal of Expectations and Hopes - Hermes Trismegistus testament There, Everywhere and Everywhere among the Ignorant Your Slanderous Knowledge, dated, inscribed in the Cyrillic, on verso. The Committee of the Komsomol of Ukraine's original stamp, on the back. Sokolov is a Soviet artist, poet, painter, and graphic artist who stood at the second Odessa avant-garde origins.
