A Carved Nestuke of a Pair of Monkeys, Japan, Edo Period, Early 19th Century
Carved with a scene of two monkeys leisurely eating a Pפersimmon fruit. The larger monkey holds the fruit stalk while gazing at their offspring. The fur is finely engraved and covered in a rich patina. A natural himotoshi located at the monkey's feet.
