Antique R.A. Patterson Tobacco Company Seal Cut Plug Lithographed Tobacco Tin - A late 19th to early 20th-century lithographed tobacco tin for Patterson's Seal Cut Plug, manufactured by the R.A. Patterson Tobacco Co. of Richmond, Virginia. The tin is a vertical rectangular form constructed of metal with a hinged lid. The exterior features vibrant orange-red lithography with gold and black decorative elements. The front and back panels are printed with Patterson's in gold block lettering above an arched Seal in large shadowed black and gold letters, with Cut Plug at the base. A central sunburst graphic surrounds a diamond-shaped logo containing a circular emblem depicting a seal. Inscriptions within the medallion include R.A. Patterson Tobacco Co., Established 1856, and Richmond, VA. One side panel features decorative scrolled ribbons with the text For Smoking and Chewing, while the adjacent side reads R.A.
