Attributed to Pontiac Streamlined Jet Age Hood Ornament on Display Base - This automotive hood ornament, or mascot, is attributed to Pontiac Chieftain and Star Chief models from the 1953 to 1954 era. The piece features a streamlined, aerodynamic body characteristic of the early Jet Age design movement. It is constructed of chrome-plated die-cast metal and features a translucent amber-toned plastic insert along the top spine. The plastic insert is designed with a series of repeating vertical ribs or fins.
