Superb Rowena Bradley Cherokee Double Weave Basket - Measuring approx 11 inches tall x 7 inches x 7 inches square. In very good condition. This basket was discovered in a lifetime Maryland collection, and this is the first time it is being offered on the public domain. Biography (courtesy of West Carolina University Hunter Library): ”Rowena Bradley (1922-2003) was the third generation of known basket weavers in her family. Both her grandmother, Mary Dobson and her mother, Nancy Bradley were accomplished at making baskets. Bradley is often cited as one of only a handful of Cherokee basket weavers who carried on the complex double weave technique in the 1930s and 1940s.
