19th Century Inuit Harpoon Point - This bone harpoon was carved in a triangular shape from the tip gradually tapering to the end where the shaft would have fit into the harpoon shaft itself and a tether attached to remain attached to the prey animal. It was collected on Wrangle Island in the 1880's. Carved from animal bone, the point is in excellent condition with the side that was exposed to the elements showing noticable surface pitting. It measures 7 1/4 inches by 5/8 inch.
