Ovoid Stoneware Jug - Marked [A. Gay / UTICA] - An early ovoid jug decorated with a flower motif and marked [A * GAY / UTICA]. This ovoid jug was made by Amos Gay, and this is a very hard to come by maker dating to the first half of the 19th century (1800-1850). The jug has survived in structurally very good overall condition, with only a few stone pops and some disformation to the sides as pictured. No apparent cracks or halirines. Measures 13 inches in height.
