L Norton & Son Stoneware Ovoid Jar - Marked [L. NORTON & SON | BENNINGTON] with an impressed capacity mark of [2]. This two gallon jar features a decorated flower on the front, and has exceptional from. This mark dates this jar to the mid 19th century. Has a tight hairline coming down from rim, and some seperation on the right handle as pictures. Also retains a kiln kiss, dating to the making of this jar. Shallow chip to base. A very attractive piece of stoneware. It measures 12 inches tall and the base is approx 5 inches in diameter.
