Inuit Harpoon Spear - A rare authentic vintage antique 19th Century original very rare Inuit Harpoon and Spear with spiritual tooth amulet and a bone finger throwing aide. The harpoon broken tip on one end protruding from a tooled bone ferrule with wonderful patina and tooling marks from the native hunter ..... and a bone shaft on the opposite end with cross hatching and possibly spiritually based designs .... there is an unusal pattern there ... so please look closely at the photograph. There are leather and what appears to be sinew or baleen wrappings .... some of the line attached to the crude harpoon point end has broken off, but over all the weapon is in wonderful rare and beautiful. It measures approximately 42” ( 106.68 cm ) overall in length. The blade measures 8 1/4” (20.95 cm ) and is 7/8 ” (2.22 cm) at the widest point in the shaft. The harpoon tip measures 3 1/4” (8.25 cm) long to where it is inside the ferrule and the round bone ferrule measures about 8” (20.32 cm) in length and an 1 1/4” (3.17 cm ) in diameter.
