Manuscript - Ma'aseh Rav for by the Gr”a - text changes from print - mid 19th century The manuscript contains 10 sections and is signed at the end: ”All of this i wrote down, I Haim son of R. Avraham Natanzohn of Pikelin.” On the last page there are comments on some sections of the manuscript, by Rabbi Haim Nathanzon. The copyist of the manuscript, the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Natanzon: (1838-1904), one of the greatest geniuses of Lithuania, was born in the city of Pikelin to his father, Rabbi Avraham Natanzon, who served in the city as a Dayan in the court of Rabbi Avraham Harif. In 1873 he was ordained to the rabbinate by Rabbi Bezalel HaCohen of Vilna. In the year 1879 he was appointed rabbi of the community in Pikelin. After a few years, Rabbi Chaim resigned from the official position of the rabbinate, and passed it on to his brother-in-law, Rabbi Yaakov Wilenchik, author of 'Daltei Te'shuva'. In the year 1896 he moved to the city of Ziddik where he served as rabbi. He authored the books 'Siftei Chen' (Vilna, 1900) and 'Divrei Chen' (Pietrekov, 1904). כתב יד - מעשה רב להגר”א - שינויי נוסח מהנדפס - שנות הת”ר המוקדמות כתב היד מכיל ק”ח סעיפים וחתום בסופו: ”את כל זה הגהתי וציינתי אני חיים בלאאמו”ר הרב מוהר”ר אברהם זצ”ל נאטנזאהן איש פיקעלין”. בעמוד האחרון מופיעות הערות על כמה מסעיפי כתב היד, מאת רבי חיים נתנזון. מעתיק כתב היד, הגאון רבי חיים נתנזון: (תקצ”ח-תרס”ד), מגדולי גאוני ליטא, נולד בעיר פיקעלין לאביו רבי אברהם נתנזון שכיהן בעיר כמו”צ ודיין בבית דינו של רבי אברהם חריף. בשנת תרל”ג נסמך לרבנות ע”י רבי בצלאל הכהן מווילנא. בשנת תרל”ט התמנה לרב הקהילה בפיקעלין. לאחר כמה שנים התפטר רבי חיים מן התפקיד הרשמי של הרבנות, והעבירו לגיסו הגאון רבי יעקב ווילענצ'יק בעל 'דלתי תשובה'. בשנת תרנ”ו עבר לעיר ז'ידיק שם כיהן ברבנות. חיבר את הספרים 'שפתי חן' (ווילנא, תר”ס) ו'דברי חן' (פיעטרקוב, תרס”ד).
