Van Hoorn published two collections of sermons, devoted respectively to the figure of the Virgin and the time of Lent: Tractatus Marialis and Tractatus Quadragesimalis. These two publications were combined posthumously under the title CORNUCOPIAE CONCIONUM SACRARUM ET MORALIUM (The book offered in this lot). Tractatus marialis thus includes twenty-four sermons on the Mother of Christ, one on Saint Joseph and one on the apostle John The author presents the prerogatives of Mary, particularly the Immaculate Conception . The speeches are followed by an index of people and subjects, as well as an index concionatorum, that is to say suggestions for a new assembly of themes on the occasion of this or that Marian feast. Tractatus quadragesimalis, it contains thirty-eight homilies for Lent, but also on the Passion and resurrection of Christ . The book also has an index, with a brief synopsis of each of the homilies.
