Pre-Columbian Maya Carved Tripod Bowl, Chocholá Style - Rare Pre-Columbian Maya Carved Polychrome Tripod Vessel / Bowl, Chocholá Style. Tripod legs in the shape of stylized jaguar heads. Bottom side of bowl decorated with extensive carved high relief Mayan symbols (geometric, anthropomorphic, zoomorphic) and painted red and white. Remainder of the outside of the slipped vessel appears to be lighter red with some remaining white pigment; with inside of bowl appearing buff. Location: Western Yucatan Region. Approx.
