Native American Southwest Casa Grandes Effigy Vessel - Native American Southwest Casa Grandes Effigy Vessel (AD 1200–1450; Paquimé, Chihuahua, Mexico; Painted Anthropomorphic Effigy Terracotta Pottery Bowl / Jar decorated with a pair of faces on opposite sides of the vessel. Casas Grandes (also called Paquimé) in Chihuahua flourished from about AD 1200 to 1450 as a center of ritual and commerce. A very nice example of the traditional Casas Grandes pottery with red and black on buff polychrome.
