Meggilat Esther. Miniature Micrograph, 1889
Especially tiny and beautiful micrograph-script scroll of Esther. Written by Yehudah Leibush, known as "Hillel Ben-Shachar." [Eastern Europe.]
Micrographic script at the center of the leaf in the form of a wheel with a diameter of only 45 mm! At center, "Megillat Esther" is written, with a drawing of a royal crown.
There are spectacular drawings of pillars with flowers and vases, and a picture of an eagle with wings outspread at the sides and on the top of the page.
The year it was written [1889] appears on top of the micrograph in chronogram: "See this wheel and look closely at my handiwork" ["ראו נא הגלגל הזה והביטו היטב פעל ידי לפ"ק, " which works out to תרמ"ט]. The artist wrote a pleasant acrostic poem with his name at the bottom of the leaf: "יהודה ליבוש, " known as Hillel Ben-Shachar (per Yeshayah 14:12).

[1 ] leaf paper: 14x16 cm, placed in passe-partout and in a beautiful frame; moderate-fine condition. Minimal abrasions and erasures. Several tiny perforations in the white margins.
