Gedolei Terumah. Zolkiew, 1809. Approbation by the Maggid of Kozhnitz
Gedolei Terumah, Sefer HaTerumot by Rabbeinu Shmuel HaSardi, disciple/associate of the Ramba"n, with the "Gedolei Terumah" commentary by Rabbi Azariah Figo of Venice. With an approbation from the maggid of Kozhnitz. List of subscribers including Chassidic leaders. Many rabbinic signatures, including the signature of Rabbi Avraham Abba Bometz, son-in-law of the Admo"r, the author of Siftei Tzaddik.
Second edition of Sefer Gedolei Terumah. At the beginning of the book there is an important introduction from the publisher, the gaon Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliot of Brod, author of Beit Ephraim, who writes that the Shach spent a lot of money to obtain Gedolei Terumah. There are also many approbations given to this edition, including an approbation by the maggid of Kozhnitz; a list of 'volunteers of the people" - a list of subscribers to the book, which includes rabbinic leaders of the generation, both Chassidic and those opposed to Chassidism: Rabbi Meir of Brod, Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliot, Rabbi Ya'akov Orenstein, Rabbi Aryeh Leib - author of Ketzot HaChoshen, Rabbi Azriel Horowitz of Lublin - "Rosh HaBarzel," the Chozeh of Lublin, the maggid of Kozhnitz and Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Rimanov.
The two leaves of approbations and subscribers are not listed by theֲ Bibliography of the Hebrew Book. Indeed, the approbation from the maggid of Kozhnitz was unknown to those who wrote his biography, and as such was not listed in Yalkut Avodat Yisrael in the list of approbations he gave.
