[23] Leaves Handwritten by the 'Steipler' from his Composition on the Torah, Birkat Peretz. Bnei Brak, c. 1970
Birkat Peretz is a unique book on the weekly Torah portions authored by the author of Kehilot Ya'akov. Its title commemorates his parents Rabbi Chaim Peretz and Mrs. Berachah.
The content, corrections and additions, including the notation "בעה"י" on the tops of the pages, are all in his handwriting. The Steipler's novellae on aggadah are extremely rare, and to the best of our knowledge, have never appeared at public auctions.
Rabbi Yisrael Ya'akov Kanievsky [1899-1985] was a gaon and a tzaddik. He was one of the leaders of the Charedi community and author of the Kehilot Ya'akov series of books. He was called 'The Steipler' after the name of his hometown, Hornosteipel.
[23] lined leaves 19x14 cm. Fine condition. A few aging stains.
