Kohelet Moshe – Amsterdam, 1724-1728 – Four Giant Volumes

Kohelet Moshe, Mikraot Gedolot—Torah, Nevi’im, and Ketuvim, with all the classic commentators. Printed in Amsterdam between 1724-1728 by Rabbi Moshe Frankfurt, dayan of Amsterdam. A complete and magnificent four-volume set, in an exceptionally large format. Missing 2 leaves.

A Rare and Luxurious Bibliophilic Edition
This prestigious edition took four years to print. The editor, Rabbi Moshe Frankfurt, noted in his introduction that he relied on support from both Ashkenazi and Sephardic scholars:
"I had commitments from distinguished individuals, both Ashkenazim and Sephardim, who would purchase sections from me every week."

This complete set includes all the introductory essays, poems, commentary notes, and scholarly appendices, as originally published.

Rabbi Moshe Frankfurt was a renowned rabbinic scholar and editor who published numerous seforim, including Nefesh Yehuda on Menorat HaMaor and an updated edition of Be'er HaGolah on the Shulchan Aruch. He wrote introductions for each volume and concluding remarks in some sections.

This Amsterdam edition follows the structure of earlier Mikraot Gedolot editions from Venice, yet includes significant additions, many of which were published here for the first time. The title 'Kohelet Moshe' was later used to refer to this specific edition in honor of its editor.

At the end of the set, a carefully corrected edition of the Masorah Gedolah appears, including:

Textual Variants between different manuscript traditions.
Comparisons between the Western (Maaravi) and Eastern (Mizrachai) traditions.
Variations between Ben Asher and Ben Naftali.
Given the importance of this edition, it was printed in an exceptionally elegant style with wide margins and fine-quality paper.
