This map is an updated engraving of Ortelius’ map of 1584 that was designed by Schort, and based on Laicstain Mercator’s description. With an additional illustration of Jonah being thrown from the ship to the whale and an illustration of Sodom and Gomorrah burning in the Dead Sea. Small loss in the fold. Very fine condition.
