Important and sought-after Tana"ch. One of the first sifrei Tana"ch printed in Amsterdam. This Tana"ch was proofread and printed by the renowned sage Rabbi Menasseh Ben Israel [1604-1658], one of the greatest chachamim of the 17th century and founder of the first Hebrew press in Amsterdam. Printing this Tana"ch began in 1631 and was completed in 1635. The title page for Nevi'im bears the year 1631. The dates were later revised by hand to 1636. Refer to" Ginzei Yisrael no. 35 (which lists an incomplete copy); and Alfei Menasheh (Amsterdam, 1927) no 24.


Four parts in one volume:

Torah V'Chamesh Meggilot: [2]-144 leaf. First title page as well as the Latin title page (not found in every copy) completed by photocopy.

Nevi'im Acharonim: [255]-369 [1] leaf, with the blank leaf at the end.

Ketuvim: 124, [2] leaf. With the [2] leaves at the end bearing "Table of Hafatarot for the whole year according to all customs, " found in only some of the copies.

21 cm. Thick, high-quality paper.

Fine condition. Minimal aging stains. Few worming perforations.
