Miniature. Megillat Esther on Parchment with a Silver Case. Ottoman Empire, 19th-20th Century
Miniature scroll of Esther, ink on parchment. Placed in a silver case, apparently not stamped. Cast, sawn and etched silver.
The megillah is written in beautiful Oriental scribal script. 32 columns, 12 lines per column.
Parchment height: 5 cm.
The case is made as a hidden scroll. The top part is a dome with an orange (coral-like) bead at the top. The bottom is a bent handle. The case is decorated all over with artistic decorations.
Case: 6.5 cm. (including the handle: 20 cm).
Fine condition. Slight tears. Light corrections to the text.
