Leaf from Levushei Srad Handwritten by the Sacred Admo"r, the Author, the Sacred Rabbi David Shlomo Eibeschitz, Author of Arvei Nachal

"I hereby attest that he experienced a revelation from Eliyahu" (the Ohev Yisrael of Apta)

Most sacred - the author's autograph: [2] very beautiful pages from the sacred sefer Levushei Srad, handwritten by the author himself, the sacred Rabbi David Shlomo Eibeschitz, one of the greatest Admo"rim of all generations, author of Levushei Srad and Arvei Nachal. [late 1700s - early 1800s].

The sacred author transcribed the words of the sefer Simlah Chadashah in the center of the leaves, and wrote his Levushei Srad commentary around it. All, as mentioned, in the glorious and very beautiful penmanship of the author of Arvei Nachal. He includes the title at the tops of the leaves, the numbers of the se'if'im, and the chapter titles. All, as mentioned, in the Arvei Nachal's familiar and very beautiful penmanship. He also wrote glosses in the margins that became integrated into the text in the printed sefer.

The sacred sefer Levushei Srad is one of the most important and well-known halachic works ever written by a Chassidic Admo"r. This sefer is considered a foundational sefer on hilchot treifot and is regularly cited in halachic literature. The sefer was so well accepted among rabbinic authorities that many would avoid granting rabbinic ordination to candidates who were not well-versed in Levushei Srad.

It goes without saying that the margins of this sacred manuscript itself were handled by his sacred hands and viewed by the pure eyes of the other patriarchs of Chassidism in his generation: the Rebbes Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev, Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Apta, the Be'er Mayim Chaim and the Rebbe Rabbi Aryeh Leib of Woloczysk - as noted in their approbations at the beginning of the first edition  of the sefer (Mohilev, 1811; refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a more extensive discussion along with a brief biography of the sacred Admo"r Rabbi David Shlomo Eibeschutz).
