Fascinating collection of [21] photographs from the Land of Israel, 1931.
In no less than five [!!] photographs, the famous Zeppelin is visible in Jerusalem skies, some even with the Temple Mount in the background. It is known that the Zeppelin flew over Jerusalem on April 11th, 1931, and caused much excitement among curious viewers, who viewed it for the first - and probably also the last - time in their lives.
On the backs of [3] photographs, "Shabbat Day, 24 Nissan 1931 at two o'clock, Count Zeppelin visited Jerusalem and environs for a second time. Spectacular view. Happiness and joy. Cheers and applause. The crowd's curiosity. Cloudy day with intermittent rain. It was here for about an hour and then returned to Egypt. Due to lack of sufficient time, it did not visit Tel Aviv or Haifa."
It is unnecessary to state the importance of these rare photographs.
The Tel-Aviv "carnival" is depicted in [6] of the photographs - Purim 1931. [10] additional photographs depict the city of Jerusalem, Hebrew laborers and more.
