Binder of [78] Issues of HaChayal. Jewish Brigade Newspaper. Italy, 1946
This newspaper was published during the important period between the end of the Holocaust and the establishment of the State, when the Brigade was in Western Europe. It includes daily reports from the national press, important events such as regarding the DP camps, commissions of inquiry, attempts to ascend to the Land and soldiers' war memories.
Including the rare first edition that was published on March 5th, 1944 under a different name, LaChayal: Alon Chadashot Yomi L'Chayalim Ivri'im B'Yabeshet Europa, and including the last issue, which was published on June 21st, 1946 with the official disbanding of the Jewish Brigade.
[77] different issues between the dates Monday, 18.2.46 and Friday, 21.6.46 + the first issue from 1944, including also several supplements that were published for Shabbats and festivals. Bound in a new hardcover fabric binding.
Overall fine condition. Lacks and tears in several leaves.
