The author Buzi (Baruch) Miller (Борис Израйлевич Миллер) 1913-1988, an author, poet and journalist, one of the most outstanding Soviet authors writing in Yiddish. At the end of Stalin's days, 1949, B. Miller was accused of ”Severe political mistakes” by publishing materials of ”bourgeois Jewish nationalistic” character and was sentenced to imprisonment in work camps, where he spent almost 7 years. In 1956, he was released and received rehabilitation. Was the editor of central Jewish newspapers in the USSR: Savetish Heimland and Birabidzshaner Stern. Lived in the Jewish-Soviet autonomy of Birobidzhan. * Max Riant, Breite Velten, Moscow 1987 A book of poetry by the Yiddish-Soviet poet Max Riant (1923-2012), ”Great Worlds”. Dedication handwritten and signed by Max Riant (Samarqand 1987). Max Riant is a renowned Yiddish poet. Was born in Saratov, lived in the Jewish-Soviet autonomy of Birobidzhan. Was a student of the Yiddish author and poet Buzi (Baruch) Miller. Later lived in Samarqand. Published several books of poetry. In addition, his poems were published in Yiddish newspapers in the USSR. In 1995 he immigrated to Israel. His last book was published in Israel (Mit di Oigen fon Main HaAretz: Lider, Balades, Poames, Tel Aviv 2003). Was awarded Honorary Citizenship of his hometown Bnei Ayish. * Yosel Buchbinder, Naente Vieten, Moscow 1983 Book of poetry of the Yiddish-Soviet author and poet Yosel Buchbinder (Иосиф Шмулевич Бухбиндер) 1908-1933. Dedication handwritten and signed by him. Was a teacher of the Yiddish language and Yiddish literature. At the end of Stalin's days, in 1952, he was arrested, accused of ”Jewish nationalism”and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in the camps. In 1957 he was released and returned to be a member of the committee of Soviet authors. Published many books of poetry. In addition, his poems were published in the Yiddish press of the USSR. Lived in Kiev until the end of his days. * Motel Grubman, Yarn fon Geviter, Moscow 1983 Book of poetry by the Yiddish-Soviet poet Motel (Michael) Grubman (Мотл Михаил Иосифович Грувман) 1916-1988. Dedication handwritten and signed by him. Published his poems in Soviet Yiddish newspapers since the 1930s. His poems were published in many literary magazines. Was a member of the committee of Soviet authors. Published poems in Yiddish and Russian. He also translated poems from Yiddish into Russian. Two of his books of poetry were published: Yarn fon Geviter (Yiddish) and В жизнь влюблен (Russian). Very fine overall condition.
