Berachah Meshuleshet - Mekor HaBerachah. Rare Approbations. Copy Previously Owned by 'The Tzaddik of Warsaw" with his Signature

"He shall merit a triple Torah blessing:  Offspring, health and sustenance" (Approbation from Rabbi Yitzchak Landau, av beit din of Lutzk)

Berachah Meshuleshet - Mekor HaBerachah: Commentaries on mishnah and gemara Berachot, with halachic rulings, by Rabbi Yitzchak Aviezer of Tiktin. Two title pages. Only edition. Lemberg, 1851. Unique and interesting composition. Uncommon book. Pedigree copy.

Lengthy owner's notation on the title page handwritten by the tzaddik of Warsaw: "Chaim Ya'akov Naftali Silberberg, son of the gaon R' A. B. of Werbshov Sh' Warsaw Twabda ... 11 Cheshvan 1885."

At the beginning of the book, there are approbations by rabbinic leaders from various countries: Rabbi Chaim Palagi, Rabbi Chaim Nissim Abulafia, Rabbi Mordechai Ze'ev Ettinger, Rabbi Aharon Moshe Toibish of Iasi, Rabbi Shmuel Heller of Safed and others. There is a common denominator in all these important approbations, apparently due to the book's title, which symbolizes blessing - all these approbations by geonim and leaders of the generation bless the book's purchasers with a rare blessing for livelihood and success: "Its reward is in it ... it contains an immeasurable triple Torah blessing" (approbation by the Rishon LeTziyon Chacham Yitzchak Kubo). "It will lend fragrance and enhance your soul and you will see your world in your lifetime" (Rabbi Mordechai Binyamin Navon). "The Torah's merit will grant a shield to protect you on your way" (Rabbi Chaim Palagi). "A person will be blessed according to the load of his hand, in his body and in his strength" (Rabbi Ze'ev Ittinga, author of Mefarshei HaYam). "He shall merit a triple Torah blessing: Offspring, health and sustenance (Rabbi Yitzchak Landau, av beit din of Lutzk).

The author, Rabbi Aviezer b"r Yitzchak of Tiktin,  hinted at his name on the title page. He ascended to Jerusalem in 1840, and also authored the books Kadosh Yisrael Mishmeret HaBrit and others.

The 'Tzaddik of Warsaw, ' Rabbi Chaim Ya'akov Naftali Silberberg [1850-1930] was one of the leading rabbinic instructors of Warsaw. He was a disciple of the gaon Rabbi Yisrael Salanter and of the Beit HaLevi. He was a confidante of the Netzi"v of Volozhin's and of the Chafetz Chaim's. Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman was particular to call him "HaGaon HaTzaddik." He was extensively involved in strengthening the observance of Shabbat and taharah. He printed posters calling for the strengthening of halachic fulfillment. He brought writings by his father, Rabbi Avraham Binyamin, av beit din of Wershib, to print, as well as those of his grandfather, the gaon of Kutna, author of Zayit Ra'anan. He would visit the Admo"rim of his generation - Rabbi Avraham of Chechnov and the author of Sefat Emet of Gur. His grandson was the famous mashpia Rabbi Tzvi Meir Silberberg, head of the Nachalat Ya'akov chaburah.
