Lengthy Letter from the Head of the Maramureş Kollel in Safed, under the Leadership of the 'Imrei Baruch' of Vizhnitz. Late Sivan, 1888
Lengthy letter-announcement from the representatives of the 'Maramureş and environs - Munkacs and Chust Kollel' with respect to the kollel's financial situation and its harsh material condition. In the letter, the administrators emphasize the close supervision of the Admo"rs of Kosov-Vizhnitz regarding the kollel. "As is known to all, we have always been sponsored with the merciful supervision of our sacred rabbis, the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel and his son the Admo"r Ohr HaChaim of Kosov, followed by his son, the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Vizhnitz, and we benefited from the influence of his blessing and supervision. Then we accepted upon ourselves as leader the Admo"r Rabbi Baruch, shlit"a, who has taken the place of his ancestors..."
The letter is signed by 14 Talmudic scholars from among the members of the kollel and its administrators, with the kollel's stamp. A similar letter with sight changes, dated 11 Tammuz, is printed in the book Kadosh U'Baruch, p. 202.

Very good condition. Fold marks. Light aging stains. The letter is partially cropped at the bottom, with slight damage to a calligraphic swirl in one of the signatures.
