Rabbi Nathan Shapira of Krakow, a prominent Ashkenazic kabalist, was a rabbi in Poland. He immigrated to Jerusalem and was sent as a fundraiser to Italy, where he met Rabbi Moshe Zacut who encouraged him to print his Ma'amar Yayin HaMishumar. His Matzat Shimurim includes the opinion that one should wear two pairs of tefillin together (Rashi and Rabbeinu Tam). He passed away in 1666.
