Germany 1920 Art Deco Carved Carnelian Buddha Brooch In Sterling Silver With Marcasite - Exceptional classic piece, created in Germany during the art deco period, back in the 1920. This brooch was carefully crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver and mount with a seated enthroned Buddha carved from carnelian. Fitted with a hinged vertical bar and a mechanical safety lock.Carnelian: Mounted with 2 pieces, carved from natural translucent carnelian. One is a trillion faceted cut and the other, is carved with the image of seated Buddha.Marcasites: Accented in a flush setting, with 11 faceted cut of marcasites.Weight: 6.75 Grams, (4.33 Dwt).Measurements: 58 mm by 15 mm by 5 mm (2.28 x 0.59 x 0.20 Inches).Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the silver and signed, ”STERLING GERMANY”.
