American Quartersawn Oak and Bird's-Eye Maple Single-Door Bookcase - An American early 20th-century single-door bookcase or display cabinet constructed from quartersawn oak and bird's-eye maple. The exterior features quartersawn oak with characteristic graining on the overhanging top, sides, and door frame. The single large glazed door opens to reveal an interior lined with bird's-eye maple veneer, containing three adjustable wooden shelves supported by side-mounted pin holes. The cabinet is finished with a recessed plinth base. A decorative brass escutcheon is fitted to the door and includes a functioning skeleton key with a four-lobed bow. 51 1/2” H x 25” W x 13” D.
