It is from the series Genji Nijushi Jo (Twenty-four Sentiments of the Modern Genji), specifically identifying as number 7 (Dai nana go). The print depicts a dramatic interior scene with figures in elaborate costume, likely referencing a kabuki interpretation of the Tale of Genji. In the foreground, a figure in the high-ranking robes associated with Prince Genji sits beside a female attendant. The robes are decorated with phoenix (ho-o) and floral motifs in purple and red tones. To the right, another woman in a lavender kimono carries a long, thin wooden box.
