Western Cutlery Carbon Steel Bowie Knife - Western Cutlery Bowie knife, model W49, c. 1979. The fixed-blade knife features a large clip-point blade constructed of carbon steel. The hilt is composed of a wide, S-shaped brass crossguard and a dark hardwood handle, likely rosewood or walnut. Three brass pins secure the contoured wood scales to the full tang, which terminates in a bird's head pommel. The blade features a small choil at the base of the primary cutting edge. Accompanied by the original brown leather swivel-style sheath featuring a metal ring attachment and belt loop. The ricasso is stamped Western U.S.A. W49 and bears a single C date code. 16” L x 5” W.
