Louis XV Style Gilt Bronze Mounted Parquetry Bureau Plat - Louis XV style bureau plat featuring a serpentine-shaped frame and cabriole legs. The desk is constructed with parquetry veneers, likely kingwood or tulipwood, arranged in a herringbone pattern across the frieze and side panels. The shaped rectangular top is inset with a three-panel black leather writing surface featuring foliate and Greek key blind tooling, bordered by a heavy molded gilt bronze rim. The desk is finished on all sides and features extensive ormolu mounts, including foliate-cast drawer pulls, corner espagnolettes depicting female busts, scrolled foliate moldings framing the drawers, and matching foliate sabots on the feet. The frieze contains three drawers with dark-finished interiors. Includes two keys. 32” H x 69” W x 37 1/2” D.
