American Empire Revival Quartersawn Oak Rocking Chair - American Empire Revival rocking chair constructed from quartersawn oak featuring prominent tiger oak graining throughout the frame. The chair is designed with a high back topped by two hand-carved lion head finials with open mouths, finished in a dark mahogany tone. The serpentine arms terminate in scrolls and are supported by shaped stanchions with visible wooden peg joinery. A lower front rail displays a carved foliate and scroll motif. The seat and backrest are upholstered in red leatherette or vinyl, secured with brass-toned nailhead trim along the edges. The chair stands on curved oak rockers.
